MORRIS, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Morris men's soccer team is set for a challenging week as they face the top two teams in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC). The Cougars travel to Bethany Lutheran College on Tuesday for a 7 p.m. kickoff, followed by a home match against the University of Wisconsin-Superior on Saturday at Cougar Field, starting at 3:30 p.m.

Minnesota Morris is coming off a narrow 3-2 loss to Crown College. The Cougars are currently tied for third in the conference with a 3-3-2 UMAC record. In their last match,
Jake Anargyros gave UMM a first-half lead before Crown rallied to take control in the second half.
Burke Sheppard scored his first goal of the season to cut the deficit to one, but the Cougars were unable to find an equalizer.
Aaron Mackall continues to lead the Cougars — and ranks second nationally in NCAA Division III — with 16 goals. The senior forward also leads the UMAC in points with 35, adding three assists to his tally. In his first season with UMM,
Jake Anargyros has made an immediate impact, ranking second in the conference with eight goals and five assists for 21 points. Goalkeeper
Nick Isensee has started all 14 matches, recording 81 saves — just eight shy of setting a new career record for the program.
Bethany Lutheran is tied for first in the UMAC with a conference record of 8-1 and an overall mark of 8-5-2. The Vikings extended their winning streak to four last week with dominant performances, defeating Martin Luther College 11-0 and the University of Northwestern 4-0. Rosalem Tendaie leads BLC with eight goals and five assists, while Guilherme Gancho follows closely with seven goals and four assists. In goal, Brady Price and Daniel Hughes have shared duties. Price has made eight appearances with 26 saves and four wins, while Hughes has 17 saves and four wins in seven matches.
UW-Superior is also tied for first in the UMAC with an undefeated conference record of 8-0 and an overall record of 10-5. The Yellowjackets went 2-1 last week, defeating Northwestern 4-0, falling 7-2 to St. John's University in a nonconference match, and finishing the week with a 3-1 victory over Crown. Seth Davidson and Jake Kidd lead UWS in scoring with eight goals each. In goal, Patrick Sessions has started 10 matches, recording 30 saves, six wins, and three shutouts.
