MORRIS, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Morris football team reaches the halfway point of Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) action this week as they travel to Greenville University for a noon kickoff on Saturday.

Last week, the Cougars suffered their first UMAC loss, falling 21-3 to the University of Northwestern, which puts them at 2-1 in conference play and tied for second place. On Minnesota Morris' opening drive, they were able to come away with points on a
Logan Ahlers field goal, but the scoring stopped there.
Hayden Charboneau led the passing game for UMM with 58 yards, while
Bryson Drake added 41 passing yards and 15 rushing yards.
Orion Knakmuhs posted a team-leading 52 receiving yards. The Cougar defense held the Eagles to just 234 yards of total offense, with
Arian Saenz leading the way with 12 tackles and one interception.

This season, Drake has totaled 489 passing yards and five touchdowns, with Charboneau following with 207 yards and one touchdown.
Sean-Keley Chinanga leads the Cougars on the ground with 390 rushing yards and four touchdowns. In his first year,
Oscar Weah Jr. has totaled 238 rushing yards, including the team's longest rush of the season at 37 yards, and one touchdown.
Carter Watnaas has gained 256 receiving yards, highlighted by the team's longest play of the year — a 72-yard catch in the season opener. Knakmuhs and
Manny Guy have also surpassed the 100-yard mark with 153 and 113 receiving yards, respectively.

Defensively,
Gregory Ohman and Saenz pace the team with 64 and 63 tackles, respectively. The team's sack leader is
Chayce Meyer, who has recorded 6.5 sacks through five games.
Dylan Young has totaled 4.5 sacks, while Ohman rounds out the top three with four. UMM has forced eight fumbles, recovering six of them.
Dino Villalobos and
Brenton Overall have each forced two fumbles. The Cougars have also recorded five interceptions, all by different players.

Greenville enters the week with a 3-2 overall record and is tied for second in the UMAC at 2-1. Last week, the Panthers were defeated by Martin Luther College, 41-39. Greenville briefly held the lead for four minutes in the third quarter, but back-to-back touchdowns by MLC put the Knights ahead by two scores, securing the win.

Max Lynch leads the Panthers with 418 passing yards and three touchdowns but has not seen the field for the last seven quarters. In his absence, Tiffin Kouzoukas has started at quarterback, throwing for 137 yards in the previous game. Sophomore running back Terrel Graves has totaled 534 rushing yards — the second-most in the UMAC — along with six touchdowns. LaShawn Williams and Noah Ambriz lead the team in receiving yards with 223 and 136, respectively.

The defense is led by Elias Velasquez, who has recorded 38 tackles and three sacks. Will Giffen leads the team in sacks with four, pushing opposing offenses back a combined 20 yards. The Panthers have forced five turnovers this season — three fumbles and two interceptions.

Greenville leads the all-time series 9-4, having won the most recent matchup 42-27 last season.
