Gregory Ohman, a senior linebacker for Cougar Football, earned his second career UMAC Defensive Player of the Week honor and his first of the 2025 season. Ohman posted a career-best performance in a 35-28 Homecoming win, recording 18 total tackles (10 solo, 8 assisted), including five tackles for loss totaling 20 yards. He also notched two sacks for nine yards, forced a fumble, and sealed the victory with a sack in the final moments of the game.
This marks the second time this season that Minnesota Morris men's soccer has swept the UMAC Player of the Week awards.
Jake Anargyros was named UMAC Offensive Player of the Week, earning the honor for the first time in his collegiate career. The first-year forward scored both Cougar goals during the week. Against the University of Northwestern, he scored with under eight minutes remaining to secure a 1-1 draw. He followed up with a composed penalty kick goal against North Central University after being fouled in the box, again helping the Cougars earn a draw.
Nick Isensee, a senior goalkeeper, received his second UMAC Defensive Player of the Week recognition. He made seven saves in the 1-1 draw against Northwestern and added five more saves against North Central, helping the Cougars remain unbeaten on the week. Following those results, Minnesota Morris sits tied for fourth in the UMAC standings.
The football team returns to action on Saturday, traveling to Westminster College in Fulton, Mo., for a noon kickoff.
Men's soccer continues conference play tonight (Tuesday), traveling to St. Bonifacius, Minn., for a 4:30 p.m. start against Crown College.
