ST. PAUL, Minn. – Six members of the University of Minnesota Morris Football team received Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) All-Conference honors announced on Thursday Nov. 20.

Chayce Meyer wrapped up his senior season with his third UMAC All-Conference First Team honor. The defensive lineman earned two UMAC Defensive Player of the Week awards and was named to the D3football.com Team of the Week. Meyer set a program record with 11.5 sacks this season, ranking second in the conference. The Osakis, Minn., native also recorded two interceptions, a forced fumble, and 39 total tackles.

Gregory Ohman was named to the UMAC All-Conference First Team for the first time in his career after back-to-back Second Team selections. Ohman also earned Second Team honors as a long snapper. The senior linebacker received UMAC Defensive Player of the Week recognition during the season and was selected to the D3football.com Team of the Week. He led UMM—and the UMAC—with 111 tackles, while also adding five sacks and two forced fumbles.

Juan "JT" Garza III earned two UMAC All-Conference First Team honors and one Second Team nod. Defensively, Garza totaled 44 tackles, two interceptions, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, and one blocked punt. Earlier in the season, he was named UMAC Special Teams Player of the Week. Garza earned First Team honors as a punt returner and Second Team honors as a kick returner, finishing the season with 603 total return yards. As a punter, he recorded 13 punts for 440 yards with a long of 51, and on a fake punt, completed a 22-yard pass.

Carter Watnaas earned UMAC All-Conference Second Team honors for the first time in his career. The senior tight end led UMM in receiving with 308 yards and three touchdowns. In the home opener, Watnaas hauled in the game-winning touchdown with under a minute remaining. In the final game of the season, he recovered a blocked punt for a touchdown.

On the offensive line,
Andrew Purcell was named to the UMAC All-Conference Second Team—his first career All-Conference recognition. The senior offensive lineman appeared in six games for the Cougars.

Dylan Young also earned All-Conference Second Team honors, the first All-Conference award of his career. The junior defensive lineman totaled 38 tackles, including nine tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, one forced fumble, and one blocked kick.
Orion Knakmuhs was selected to the UMAC All-Sportsmanship Team.
