MORRIS, Minn. – The College Sports Communicators announced the Academic All-District Team for soccer, and the University of Minnesota Morris had six student-athletes recognized.

To qualify for this award, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore with a cumulative grade point average of 3.50, and must have competed in 90 percent of games this season or started in at least 66 percent of them.

Rylie Lovec represents the women's team. The sophomore defender is majoring in psychology and minoring in forensic science. This season, Lovec started all 20 games for the Cougars on the backline and recorded one assist.

The men's team had five student-athletes earn the honor:
Nick Isensee,
Jacob Lee,
Aaron Mackall,
Cade Simonson, and
Azariah Zappetta. This marks the third time Isensee and Lee have received this recognition.

Isensee is majoring in criminal justice. This season, the senior goalkeeper started all 18 games and earned Upper Midwest Athletic Conference First Team All-Conference honors. He finished the year with 108 saves and now holds the all-time saves record at UMM.

Lee is a senior who majored in financial and organizational management. The New Prague, Minn., native started all 18 games and earned UMAC All-Conference Honorable Mention honors.

Mackall continues to add to his senior accolades. The senior forward majored in psychology during his time at UMM. Mackall was named UMAC Offensive Player of the Year, UMAC First Team All-Conference, and earned UMAC Offensive Player of the Week five times during the 2025 season.

Simonson is a junior majoring in business and management. The Champlin, Minn., native completed his third season with the Cougars, earning UMAC All-Conference Honorable Mention honors. Simonson started all 18 games for UMM and tallied one assist.

Zappetta earned CSC Academic All-District honors in the first year he was eligible. The sophomore defender is majoring in sport management. This season, he started all 18 games and totaled 1,551 minutes played.
