MORRIS, Minn. –  The University of Minnesota Morris volleyball team closes out the 2025 regular season with an Upper Midwest Athletic Conference matchup at the University of Wisconsin-Superior on Friday night at 7 p.m.

The Cougars went 1-1 last week in their final home games of the 2025 campaign. UMM opened the week with a Senior Day sweep against Martin Luther College, securing a spot in the UMAC Tournament.
Mary Cate Ziembiec led the team with 16 kills while hitting .406.
Clara Holden added 20 assists, and
Allison Dornseif chipped in 16. The Cougars totaled six service aces, with
Ella Johnson accounting for three, and
Lexi Coon posted a team-high 18 digs.

In the following match, Minnesota Morris fell in four sets to Bethany Lutheran College. Highlights included Coon recording a career-high 32 digs—finishing the week with 50—and earning another UMAC Defensive Player of the Week honor. Ziembiec continued to lead the attack with 17 more kills, bringing her weekly total to 33 and earning UMAC Offensive Player of the Week recognition.

The Cougar offense has been led by Ziembiec, who has tallied 236 kills in her senior season. Johnson and
Bella Nelson follow with 149 and 145 kills, respectively.
Anna Molstad is also in triple digits with 133 kills.
Tori Scheler leads the team in hitting percentage at .281 and has recorded 95 kills. Holden and Dornseif direct the offense with 458 and 261 assists, respectively. UMM leads the conference in service aces, averaging 2.29 per set and totaling 197 on the season. Holden leads the team with 46, ranking third in the UMAC.

Coon surpassed 400 digs in her first season with the Cougars and currently sits at 401. Ziembiec is second on the team with 234, with Johnson and Holden close behind at 207 and 206, respectively. Scheler has a team-high 52 blocks, placing her seventh in the UMAC, and
Braxtyn Meyer has totaled 37.

UW-Superior enters the final week with a 19-9 overall record and an 8-2 mark in the UMAC, currently sitting in second place. Last week, the Yellowjackets went 1-1, sweeping North Central University before falling 3-1 to the University of Northwestern. Lynne Deadrick is in her 23rd season as head coach at UWS. Makenna Hohbein leads the conference with 397 kills, averaging 3.75 per set, while Savanna Hering leads the defense with 493 digs.

This is the second meeting between the teams this season, with UWS winning the first match 3-2. In that match, Johnson and Ziembiec led the Cougars with 14 kills each, and Coon totaled 25 digs.
