Cougar Football Host Westminster for final home game of 2025

MORRIS, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Morris football team will play its final home game of the 2025 season on Saturday at noon, hosting Westminster College at Big Cat Stadium in Upper Midwest Athletic Conference play.

Last week, the Cougars dropped a UMAC contest to Crown College, 34-15, bringing their record to 2-6 overall and 2-3 in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference. Bryson Drake led UMM in that game with 169 passing yards, 40 rushing yards, and two passing touchdowns. Manny Guy totaled 50 receiving yards, followed by Andrew Holm with 41 yards. Holm also caught his first collegiate touchdown. Gregory Ohman led the defense with 12 tackles, including one TFL and one forced fumble. Chayce Meyer recorded two sacks.
 
This season, Drake has totaled 791 passing yards with eight passing touchdowns. He has also gained 291 rushing yards with three rushing touchdowns. Sean-Keley Chinanga has a team-high 425 rushing yards, followed by Oscar Wear Jr. with 327. Guy now leads the team in receiving yards with 270, and Carter Watnaas is right behind him with 256. The duo each have a 70-plus-yard play this season.
 
Ohman has recorded 89 tackles to lead the UMM defense. Arian Saenz and Juan "JT" Garza III round out the top three with 64 and 37 tackles, respectively. Meyer has racked up 9.5 sacks on the season, leading the UMAC and averaging 1.36 per game. The Cougar defense has 11 takeaways on the season. Dino Villalobos leads the team with two forced fumbles and one interception. Ohman and Brenton Overall have also forced two fumbles.
 
Westminster is coming off a 24-7 victory over Greenville University for its first conference win of the season, improving to 3-5 overall and 1-4 in the UMAC. Quarterback Trey Thomas threw for 122 yards and two touchdowns, while Trace Helsel added 71 rushing yards. The Blue Jays recorded four sacks and four forced fumbles, with Jeremiah Belizaire tallying two sacks and a forced fumble.
 
This season, the Blue Jays' offense is led by Thomas with 1,615 passing yards and 11 touchdowns. On the ground, Helsel has 428 rushing yards and three touchdowns. Keegan Zdybel leads the receiving corps with 513 yards and four touchdowns.
 
Jason Colonius has a team-high 70 tackles, followed by Alex Goly with 59. The Blue Jay defense has forced 15 turnovers, including 10 interceptions and five fumble recoveries. Leading the team in takeaways are Campton Hicks with three picks and Belizaire with three forced fumbles.
 
The Cougars and Blue Jays met earlier this season, with Minnesota Morris winning 30-27 on a walk-off field goal by Logan Ahlers. Minnesota Morris leads the all-time series 11-9 and has won the last seven matchups.
