BEMIDJI, Minn. - The University of Minnesota Morris women's tennis team went head-to-head against Bemidji State University in a non-conference matchup. The Cougars fell to their Division II opponents in a 0-7 final score.
In doubles play Minnesota Morris struggled in the No. 1 match, falling to Bemidji State in a 0-6 shutout. The No. 2 doubles match fell in a 1-6 loss while the No. 3 doubles pairing nabbed two points from the Beavers to finish 2-6. The No. 1 doubles pairing was Allison Bruhn and Kristen Muller, the No. 2 match for the Cougars was played by Mariah Mireles and Marybeth Tautges, while Jhazlyn Wynne and Katherine Kelm made up the No. 3 pairing.
The Beavers took singles play in a decisive fashion as Tautges (No. 4) fell in a 0-6,0-6 match and Bruhn (No. 1) took a 0-6,1-6 loss. Muller (No. 2) and Katelyn Money (No. 6) both finished with scores of 1-6,1-6 in their matches. Finishing with final scores of 1-6,2-6, Mireles (No. 3) and Kelm (No. 5) took three sets each from Bemidji State.Â
Play will resume for the Cougars in San Diego, California where they will take on Mt. San Antonio College Mar. 10 at 3 pm (1 pm PST).Â
