MANKATO, Minn. - Facing Bethany Lutheran College in the first round of the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference tournament, the University of Minnesota Morris took a 0-2 loss on the day. The Cougars managed to secure two hits in the contest and got as far as second base. Minnesota Morris will have a chance to continue their playoff run tomorrow, May 9, in a 1:30 pm matchup with the University of Northwestern.
Alyssa Thornton and Olivia Losee were the lone Cougars to earn hits on the day, with Thornton's coming in the third inning and Losee's being in the second. Sierra Stevens picked up yet another stolen base to further her current school record while Jillian Anderson wore a pitch from the Viking's pitcher. Thornton appeared in the circle for the Cougars and pitched one strikeout, 10 flyouts, and six groundouts while giving up two runs in the fifth.Â
