Men’s Soccer Sweeps UMAC Player of the Week Awards

ST. PAUL, Minn. – Aaron Mackall and Nick Isensee of the University of Minnesota Morris men's soccer team have been named Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Athletes of the Week for the period of Sept. 8–14, as announced on Tuesday, Sept. 16.

This marks Mackall's third consecutive UMAC Offensive Player of the Week honor. He is coming off a three-goal week. After the Cougars trailed 2-0 at halftime, Mackall leveled the match at 2-2 by scoring twice in the first 15 minutes of the second half. In the following game, the senior forward netted the game-winning goal in a 1-0 victory over the University of Wisconsin-Stout.

Isensee was named UMAC Defensive Player of the Week for the first time in his career. The senior goalkeeper posted a 1-0-1 record during the week. He made eight saves in a 3-3 draw against Concordia College (Minn.) to help keep the Cougars in the match. Isensee followed that performance with 10 saves and recorded his second shutout of the season in the win at UW-Stout.

The Cougars open UMAC play on Wednesday when they host Bethany Lutheran College at 2 p.m.
