MORRIS, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Morris women's soccer team kicks off Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) action on Wednesday as they host Bethany Lutheran College at 4:30 p.m. at Cougar Field.

Last week, the Cougars played two non-conference matches against Hamline University and the University of Wisconsin-Stout. Junior goalkeeper
CJ Frear-Boerner had a strong showing in net, recording a total of 10 saves across both games.
Ashlynn Pollreisz and
Emma Buzinec led the offensive efforts with shots on target but were unable to find the back of the net.

So far this season, the Cougars have scored five goals.
Brianna Ganske leads the team with three, while
Hope Berscheit has added two. Buzinec and
Abigail Oxborough have each contributed an assist.
Bella Toth and
Johnette Nagbe pace the team in shots on goal with 10 and eight, respectively, though neither has scored yet. Frear-Boerner has started all seven games in goal and has totaled 48 saves, second-most in the UMAC.

Bethany Lutheran was picked to finish second in the UMAC Preseason Coaches Poll. Entering conference play, the Vikings hold a 0-4-1 record. Last week, they fell 4-0 to the College of Saint Scholastica before drawing 1-1 with Hamline University. BLC has scored twice this season, with goals from Mia Johnson and Elena Luján Rubio. In goal, Arayah Baker has started four of the team's five matches and has made 45 saves.
