MORRIS, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Morris women's soccer team continues its homestand by hosting Martin Luther College on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. The Cougars will then travel to Iowa for a pair of games, facing Buena Vista University on Saturday at 1 p.m. and Cornell College on Sunday at 11 a.m.

Last week, the Cougars opened their season and currently hold a 0-1-1 record. Minnesota Morris dropped its first game to Saint Mary's University.
Bella Toth led the offense with two shots on goal, while
CJ Frear-Boerner made nine saves. In their next match, the Cougars battled to a 0-0 draw with Concordia College. Toth again tallied two shots on target, and Frear-Boerner earned her first clean sheet with 11 saves.
This season, Toth and
Johnette Nagbe lead UMM in shots with seven and four, respectively.
Sarah Kumher has played every minute so far, anchoring the back line. In goal, Frear-Boerner has totaled 20 saves.
Martin Luther has started the season 0-2, falling 0-2 to Buena Vista and 0-4 to Wisconsin Lutheran College. The Knights are coming off a 5-11-3 season. Junior Katie Schoeneck leads the attack for MLC with eight shots on target, though the team is still searching for its first goal of the season. Sophomore Maria Vik has started both games in goal and has made 16 saves.
Buena Vista is off to a 2-0 start in the 2025 season with a 2-0 win over Martin Luther and a 2-1 victory against Hesston College. Bailey Gibbons has scored two goals for the Beavers, while Hailey Chambers and Bridgget Gonzalez have one each. Sophomore Maia Jaroch holds a 2-0 record in goal with seven saves so far this year. Last season, BVU finished with a 7-10-1 record.
Cornell College is 1-0 to start the season, earning a 6-1 win over North Central University on Saturday. Macky Larkin and Eva Plathe each scored two goals in the opener, while Sabrina Ibanez made four saves. Last season, the Rams finished with a 2-13-1 record.
