MORRIS, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Morris women's soccer team enters its second week of Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) action with two road games. The Cougars will face Martin Luther College on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m., followed by a matchup at the University of Wisconsin-Superior on Saturday, also at 4:30 p.m.

In their conference opener last week, the Cougars played to a 0-0 draw against Bethany Lutheran College. Minnesota Morris had several chances, with
Johnette Nagbe leading the team with four shots on goal, but the Cougars were unable to convert. Junior goalkeeper
CJ Frear-Boerner played a pivotal role in the draw, making 11 saves to earn her first career shutout.
Brianna Ganske leads the Cougars and ranks sixth in the UMAC with three goals.
Hope Berscheit has added the team's other two goals.
Emma Buzinec and
Abigail Oxborough each have one assist. Nagbe and
Bella Toth lead the team in shots on goal with 12 and 10, respectively, though both are still looking for their first goals of the season. Frear-Boerner has started all eight games in net and has totaled 59 saves.
Martin Luther currently sits atop the UMAC standings at 2-0 and holds an overall record of 5-2-1. Last week, the Knights defeated Crown College and North Central University by identical 2-1 scores. MLC features the top three scorers in the conference: Katie Schoeneck leads with five goals, while Anna Kramer and Priscilla Boehm each have four. Goalkeeper Maria Vik has started all eight games and has made 42 saves.
UW-Superior earned its first wins of the season last week as UMAC play began. The Yellowjackets are 2-0 in conference play and 2-4-1 overall. UWS defeated North Central, 6-0, and Crown, 3-0. Kamryn Hill leads the team with four goals, tying her for second in the conference, while Niamh Larson has scored three. Goalkeeper Quinn Clark has made 27 saves in her six starts.
