Track and Field Competes at the Ole Opener for first meet of 2026

MORRIS, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Morris men's and women's track & field teams travel to Northfield, Minn., for their first meet of the 2026 calendar year at the Ole Opener on Saturday. The first events are scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.

The Cougars opened the indoor season at the Chuck Petersen Open, where both the men's and women's teams finished fifth.
 
On the women's side, Lindsey Hause finished second in the mile, while Lilly Ronholdt set a personal record in the 800 meters. In the field events, Amaya Willis led UMM with a 12th-place finish in the weight throw, and Natalie Enright placed 15th in the shot put.
 
Jerome Thomass III recorded the sixth-fastest time in program history in the 60 meters, finishing 13th overall. Noah Johnson and Tyler Franke added top-10 finishes in the mile and 800 meters, respectively.
 
This will be the first time any of the student-athletes have competed at the Tostrud Center at St. Olaf College.
