Cougars Return to Northfield for the St. Olaf Invitational & Multi

MORRIS, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Morris men's and women's track & field teams return to Northfield, Minn., for the two-day St. Olaf Invitational & Multi beginning Friday.

Last week, the Cougars competed at the CSB/SJU Alumni Meet, where both the men's and women's teams finished fourth.
 
Noah Johnson led the men in the 800-meter run, setting a season-best time and finishing fifth. The team of Johnson, Hayden Charboneau, Aidyn Yerkin, and Tyler Franke took first place in the 4x400-meter relay. In the field events, Kincade Eisenbacher led UMM in both the weight throw and shot put.
 
On the women's side, Nibras Luqman and April Knight each qualified for the finals in the 60-meter dash. Luqman ran a personal-best time of 8.51 to finish second in the event. Mary Watry recorded the sixth-fastest time in program history in the 60-meter hurdles. In the field events, Kylie Elmes finished fourth in the shot put, while Amaya Willis placed third in the weight throw.
 
The Cougars last competed at the Tostrud Center on Jan. 17. Willis highlighted the meet by winning the weight throw with a distance of 14.47 meters, which currently stands as the best mark in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference. Other notable performances included Lindsey Hause's sixth-place finish in the high jump, Johnson's sixth-place finish in the 800-meter run, and Eisenbacher leading the men in the weight throw with a 10th-place finish.
