MORRIS, Minn. – Five members of the University of Minnesota Morris football team were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team, as announced Tuesday, Jan. 6.

To qualify for this honor, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore with a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 and must have competed in 90 percent of the team's games this season or started in at least 66 percent of them.

Logan Ahlers earned CSC Academic All-District honors for the first time in his career with Cougar football. During his time at UMM, he double majored in Business Management and Sport Management. This season, Ahlers played in all 10 games, recording 14 tackles—five solo—and one tackle for loss. Midway through the season, the senior linebacker was called upon to kick and scored a walk-off field goal at Westminster College.

This marks the second consecutive year
Orion Knakmuhs has earned CSC Academic All-District honors. The senior wide receiver majored in Elementary Education while attending Minnesota Morris. Knakmuhs started all 10 games this season, totaling 410 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Gregory Ohman earned his third CSC Academic All-District honor, receiving the award in every year he was eligible. Ohman majors in Business and Management. The senior linebacker added this academic recognition to an impressive list of accomplishments during the 2025 season, including UMAC Defensive Player of the Week, D3football.com Team of the Week, UMAC First Team All-Conference Defense, UMAC Second Team All-Conference Special Teams, and D3football.com All-Region Third Team honors. Ohman led the UMAC with 111 tackles, including 18 tackles for loss and five sacks.

Arian Saenz earned CSC Academic All-District honors for the first time in his career. The junior linebacker is majoring in Exercise Science at UMM. Saenz played in nine games this season, starting seven, and finished second on the team with 73 tackles. The Sleepy Eye, Minn., native also recorded an interception.

For the second consecutive season,
Carter Watnaas was named to the Academic All-District Team. The Osakis, Minn., native double majored in History and Secondary Education. Watnaas started all 10 games at tight end for the Cougars and totaled 308 receiving yards and three touchdowns, including a 41-yard touchdown in the final minute to secure a homecoming victory.
