MORRIS, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Morris volleyball team will play in one match this week as they host Crown College in Upper Midwest Athletic Conference play Wednesday at 7 p.m.

The Cougars went 1-1 last week, starting with a sweep against North Central College. That was the 131st win for head coach
Joe Sussenguth, making him the winningest coach in program history. Minnesota Morris then dropped its first conference game, 3-0, to (RV) University of Northwestern. Across the week,
Natalie Wahl led the attack with 19 kills, while
Braxtyn Meyer and
Ella Johnson followed with 12 each. Johnson had a team-high 28 digs over the week.

Wahl paces the Cougars' offense this season with 155 kills, with Johnson not far behind with 150. Meyer surpassed 100 kills on the season and sits at 107.
Tori Scheler and
Bella Nelson round out the top five with 97 and 95 kills, respectively.
Sella Fleming is setting up the offense in her first season with the Cougars, totaling 512 assists to lead the team and the UMAC. Wahl has a team-leading 18 service aces, with Meyer following with 17.

Defensively,
Rachel Bopp paces Minnesota Morris with 254 digs, with Johnson in second with 220. Wahl, Fleming, and
Clara Holden all have over 100 digs on the season. At the net, Scheler leads the team with 41 blocks, six solo and 35 assisted.

Crown is 6-7 overall this season and is 2-3 in the UMAC. Last week, the Polars dropped a pair of conference matches, falling 3-1 to Bethany Lutheran College and 3-0 to Northwestern. Head coach Celia Blattner is in her fourth season coaching Crown. Lauren Burnett and Lily Duquaine lead the attack with 135 and 129 kills, respectively. The defense is led by Kaitlyn Drost with 183 digs.

This is the second time these teams have met this season. At Crown, the Cougars came away with a 3-0 (25-17, 25-15, 25-15) victory. Johnson had a match-high 14 kills, while Scheler hit .667 with 10 kills. Fleming totaled 33 assists, and Bopp had a team-high 16 digs.
