MORRIS, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Morris men's and women's track & field teams will compete in their final indoor meet before the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference Championships at the Maverick Open on Friday.

In their first meet of the season, the Cougars competed at the Myers Field House, where both the men's and women's teams finished fifth.

The Cougars competed last Saturday at the CSB+SJU Valentine's Day Open in Collegeville, Minn.
Noah Johnson landed himself in the record book in the 600 meters. The junior distance runner placed seventh with a time of 1:19.01, the seventh-fastest time in program history.
Hayden Charboneau finished eighth in the 60-meter hurdles. In the field events,
Lucas Tauber led the team in the shot put, and
Kincade Eisenbacher recorded a team-best throw in the weight throw.

For the women,
Amaya Willis placed third in the weight throw, finishing behind only two Division II athletes to earn her third UMAC Field Athlete of the Week award.
Kylie Elmes threw a season-best 10.68 meters in the shot put to lead UMM. In the track events,
Sylvia Pesch had a fifth-place finish in the 5,000 meters. Four athletes set personal records at the meet.
