MANKATO, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Morris men's track & field team finished its final meet before the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference Championship at the Maverick Open on Friday in Mankato, Minn.
Noah Johnson set a personal best in the mile with a time of 4:55.56, placing 26th overall.
Aidyn Yerkin led the Cougars in the 400 meters with a PR of 57.14. Johnson also set a season best in the 800 meters to finish ninth in the event. Yerkin added another PR in the 200 meters.
In the field events,
Jackson Viemeister made his season debut and had the top performance for UMM in both the long jump and triple jump.
Lucas Tauber led the Cougars in the weight throw and shot put.
The Cougars will compete next on Feb. 27 at the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference Championship in Superior, Wis.
