MORRIS, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Morris men's and women's track & field teams will compete in their first outdoor meet of the season at the Optimistic Meet in Collegeville, Minn., on Saturday.

The Cougars last competed on Feb. 27–28 at the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference Indoor Championship. The women's team came in fifth, and the men placed sixth. Highlighting the meet was Amaya Willis, who won the weight throw with a mark of 14.40 meters. Willis, Kat Placido, and Sylvia Pesch all earned UMAC All-Conference honors for their performances.
 
On the men's side, the relay team of Noah Johnson, Juan "JT" Garza III, Tyler Franke, and Ethan Koehler scored the team's first points of the meet in the 4,000-meter distance medley relay. Hayden Charboneau ran the ninth-fastest time in program history in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.38.
