Eisenbacher - Action Shot - Track and Field at CSB/SJU Invite

Cougars Finish Eighth at CSB/SJU Invitational

COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Morris men's track & field team placed eighth at the CSB/SJU Invite on Thursday in Collegeville, Minn.
 
Noah Johnson started the meet by placing sixth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. The relay team of Christian Davis, Evan Rydberg, Jerome Thomas III, and Sam Gifford placed fifth overall. Johnson also had another strong finish for UMM in the 1,500 meters. Hayden Charboneau qualified for the finals of the 110-meter hurdles and scored a point with an eighth-place finish. Thomas was the next scorer, adding a point in the 100 meters. In his third event, Johnson added two more points with a seventh-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles. To close out the track events, Daniel Decory just missed scoring, coming in ninth in the 10,000 meters.
 
In the field events, Greg Ohman led UMM in the hammer throw with a season-best distance of 40.26 meters, placing 18th. Ethan Lauritsen led the team in the long jump. Ohman scored for the Cougars in the discus, placing eighth with the best throw in the UMAC at 43.06 meters. He also led the team in the shot put, placing 16th. William Urch finished 10th in the javelin with a throw of 35.68 meters.
 
The Cougars will compete in their final meet before the conference championships on April 25 at the Rider/Bolstorff Invitational in St. Paul, Minn.
