MORRIS, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Morris baseball team will play five games to close out the regular season, beginning with Division I South Dakota State University, followed by a three-game series against the University of Wisconsin-Superior, and concluding with Saint John's University.

Entering the final week of the regular season, the Cougars sit in fourth place in the UMAC but can still finish as high as first. To win the conference, they would need Bethany Lutheran to win two of three games against the University of Northwestern, while the Cougars would need to go 3-0 against UW-Superior.
The Cougars had a busy week, going 4-2. During that stretch,
Breckin Silvain tied the program's single-season save record at seven after picking up three last week.
Ryan McGie totaled 11 hits, including five doubles and one home run, and added six RBIs. He also earned a win on the mound after pitching 8.2 innings with eight strikeouts.
Kellan Oligmueller leads the team with a .347 batting average, along with 25 hits, five doubles, and one home run.
Ben Meuser follows at .345, with McGie rounding out the top three at .339.
Trevor Haberman leads the team with six home runs, with
Bradie Black close behind with five. Meuser has driven in a team-high 29 runs, while
Landen Meyerdirk has scored a team-high 35 runs.
On the mound,
Travis Godfrey,
Parker Gilchrist,
Johnny Lopez, and McGie each have three wins this season. Godfrey leads the team with a 3.86 ERA and has recorded 41 strikeouts. Silvain has made 16 appearances and earned seven saves to lead the UMAC while holding a 3.99 ERA.
South Dakota State holds a 14-25 overall record and is 7-10 in the Summit League. In their most recent outing, the Jackrabbits split a series with the University of Northern Colorado, winning 7-6 in 11 innings before falling 19-2. Rob Bishop is in his 10th season with SDSU and has totaled over 700 career wins in college baseball. Nolan Grawe leads the team with a .309 batting average, while Luke Luskey has a team-high six home runs. On the mound, Sam Schlecht has the best ERA among qualified pitchers at 5.12 and leads the team with 48 strikeouts.
UW-Superior has a 23-11 overall record and is tied for first in the conference with a 12-3 mark. The Yellowjackets are on an eight-game winning streak, most recently defeating Carleton College 9-8 in 11 innings. TJ Oakes is in his fifth season as head coach at UWS. Noah Dagostino leads the team with a .382 batting average, with Tanner Voight following at .378. The pitching staff is led by Josh Pritchard, who holds a 2.22 ERA.
Saint John's enters the final week of the regular season with a 20-12 overall record and a 10-6 mark in the MIAC. The Johnnies have won their last four games, most recently defeating Augsburg University 14-0. Head coach Scott Lieser is in his first season at the helm after serving as an assistant coach for seven years. SJU has five players batting over .300, with Brendan Hemr leading the team at .333. On the mound, Max Edwards and Matthew Magnuson both hold sub-2.00 ERAs.
