2025-26 Cougar Athletics Senior Awards Arnold Henjum Award: Ben Meuser Men's Honor Athlete Award Greg Ohman Men's Cougar Excellence Award: Aaron Mackall and Chayce Meyer

Meuser, Ohman, Mackall, Meyer Headline Minnesota Morris Men's Senior Awards

Morris, Minn. – Aaron Mackall, Ben Meuser, Chayce Meyer, and Gregory Ohman were selected by a vote of the University of Minnesota Morris Athletic Department to receive the 2025–26 senior awards.
 
Arnold Henjum Scholar-Athlete Award
Presented to a senior male athlete on the basis of athletic excellence and integrity, this award honors Arnold Henjum, a professor of education from September 1964 to June 1992, who made innumerable contributions to Minnesota public education. Recipients must earn a minimum 3.0 overall grade point average.
 
The 2025–26 Arnold Henjum Scholar-Athlete Award winner is Ben Meuser.
 
Meuser has been a member of the Minnesota Morris baseball team for four seasons. He has earned Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) First Team All-Conference honors each season. In 2024, he was the NCAA statistical champion in RBIs per game. Meuser is throughout the Cougar record book, holding program records in home runs and RBIs.
 
Academically, Meuser has earned UMAC All-Academic honors the past two seasons. He has also given back to the community by volunteering with Feed My Starving Children, reading at local elementary schools, and giving baseball lessons.
 
Meuser is a sport management major who plans to work for the City of Burnsville this summer and pursue coaching opportunities while seeking an internship with a professional sports franchise.
 
Men's Honor Athlete Award
The Honor Athlete Awards are selected by a committee of coaches based on academic and athletic achievement. Recipients must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher. Gregory Ohman is the 2025–26 Men's Honor Athlete Award winner.
 
Ohman was a member of the Minnesota Morris football and track and field teams for four years. In football, he was named UMAC All-Conference as a linebacker three times and earned All-Conference honors as a long snapper once. In his senior season, Ohman earned D3football.com Third Team All-Region honors, was named UMAC Defensive Player of the Week once, and was selected to the D3football.com Team of the Week.
 
In track and field, the Lake Nebagamon, Wis., native has earned UMAC All-Conference honors twice in the discus and ranks eighth all-time in Cougar history in the discus.
 
Ohman has been named to the Dean's List seven times during his time at Minnesota Morris and has earned Academic All-UMAC honors every season in both sports. He has also received CSC Academic All-District honors three times in football and once in track and field.
 
In the community, Ohman has been highly involved in volunteer work. He has worked with Feed My Starving Children, new student move-in, Community Meals, Trick-or-Can for the food shelf, the Parade of Lights, and Snowball setup. He has helped move community members, assisted with elementary PE classes, participated in Cougar Day of Play, Special Olympics bowling, and RFC homeschool co-op classes, and taken part in events such as tip nights and the Polar Plunge. He has also gone on two one-week mission trips to Guatemala and Jackson, Miss., and serves as a Cougar Football ambassador.
 
Ohman is majoring in business management with a minor in economics. After graduation, he plans to return to northern Wisconsin with his wife, Jordan Ohman, to save money. In August, they will leave for a three-month mission trip to Zambia, Africa. Following that, they plan to pursue long-term mission work.
 
Men's Cougar Excellence Award
The Cougar Excellence Award is presented annually to a fourth-year student-athlete who represents the best of Cougar Athletics through passion, dedication, athletic competitiveness, and academic engagement. Recipients must have competed at Minnesota Morris for at least two years.
 
The winners of the Men's Cougar Excellence Award are Aaron Mackall and Chayce Meyer.
 
Mackall played two seasons with the Cougar men's soccer team. In his senior season, he was named UMAC Offensive Player of the Year and earned USC Third Team All-Region honors. He ranked third in the nation with 16 goals and set a conference record with five UMAC Player of the Week awards in a single season.
 
He ranks fourth all-time in goals at UMM despite playing only two seasons, is third in single-season goals, and set the program record with four goals in a game.
 
Mackall became the first Cougar men's soccer player to earn CSC Academic All-America First Team honors. His academic accolades also include CSC Academic All-District, Scholar All-Region, UMAC All-Academic, and multiple Dean's List selections. He has volunteered with Feed My Starving Children and youth soccer clinics.
 
During his time at UMM, Mackall earned a degree in psychology. His post-graduation plans include working while pursuing a professional soccer contract. If he does not secure a contract, he plans to attend graduate school in fall 2027 for cognitive psychology.
 
Meyer was a member of the Cougar football team for four seasons. During his time at UMM, the defensive end was named UMAC Defensive Player of the Year twice, earned UMAC First Team All-Conference honors three times and Second Team once, and received All-Region VI honors twice along with three D3football.com honors. He was also named UMAC Player of the Week five times. Meyer holds program records for single-season and career sacks, as well as tackles for loss.
 
Meyer has also been active in the community, volunteering with Feed My Starving Children, new student move-in, and the Parade of Lights.
 
Meyer is majoring in sport management and plans to become a sports marketing specialist.
