Morris, Minn. – Gregory Ohman and
Anna Molstad are representing the University of Minnesota Morris as Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Scholar-Athlete Leadership Award finalists, as announced on April 13.
The UMAC Scholar-Athlete Leadership Award is presented to student-athletes who embody what it means to be an NCAA Division III student-athlete. Through this award, the UMAC recognizes the role athletics plays in developing leaders by rewarding excellence in the classroom as well as service to the community.
The NCAA Division III student-athlete is unique among intercollegiate athletes because, at Division III institutions, student-athletes do not receive financial aid for athletic participation. These institutions emphasize the overall quality of the educational experience and the successful completion of each student's academic program, with athletics serving as an important component of that experience. Division III also provides opportunities for student-athletes to participate in numerous campus activities beyond athletics, and these finalists have maximized those opportunities.
Ohman is a member of the Minnesota Morris football and track and field teams. He is a three-time UMAC All-Conference honoree as a linebacker and earned All-Conference honors once as a long snapper. In his senior season, Ohman led the UMAC in tackles with 111. In track and field, he competes in throwing events and has earned UMAC All-Conference honors in the discus twice.
Molstad is a member of the Minnesota Morris volleyball team. In her senior season, she was named UMAC All-Conference Honorable Mention for the second consecutive year. During the 2025 campaign, she recorded 152 kills while hitting .197. Molstad was also one of just four athletes to compete in every match during the 2025 season.
