SUPERIOR, Wis. – The University of Minnesota Morris men's track & field team sits in seventh place after the first day of the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference Championship.
Noah Johnson was the first to score on the track for UMM, finishing seventh in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. Johnson also led the team in the 800 meters and 400-meter hurdles but was unable to crack the top eight in either event. The relay team of
Ethan Lauritsen,
Daniel Decory,
Jaxon Dalman, and
Tyler Franke scored three points in the 4x800-meter relay with a sixth-place finish.
In the field events,
Greg Ohman had the highest placement of the day, finishing fourth in the shot put with a throw of 13.05 meters. In the javelin,
William Urch placed sixth with a throw of 42.05 meters.
The Cougars will wrap up the meet on Saturday, with events starting at 11 a.m.
