MORRIS, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Morris baseball team begins postseason play Thursday at the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Tournament against Bethany Lutheran College at 6:30 p.m.

The UMAC Tournament is double elimination. If the Cougars defeat Bethany Lutheran, they will play Friday at 3 p.m. against the winner of the University of Northwestern and the University of Wisconsin-Superior. If Minnesota Morris loses, it will play at 12 p.m. on Friday.
The Cougars finished the conference regular season with a 12-6 UMAC record, placing fourth in the conference. In their final series, Minnesota Morris went 1-2 against UW-Superior. In the win,
Bradie Black led the team with three hits.
Ben Meuser hit a solo home run, and
Ryan McGie pitched a complete game with six strikeouts while not allowing an earned run.
Kellan Oligmueller finished the regular season leading the team with a .341 batting average. Four other Cougars hit above .300: McGie, Meuser,
Landen Meyerdirk, and Black. Meuser leads the team in hits (40) and RBIs (26), while Black and
Trevor Haberman share the team lead with six home runs each. The Cougars rank second in the UMAC in stolen bases with 80, with Meyerdirk second in the conference with 23.
McGie holds the team's best ERA at 3.86. He has appeared in eight games with a 4-3 record and 33 strikeouts.
Travis Godfrey has a 4.50 ERA and a team-leading 46 strikeouts.
Parker Gilchrist and
Johnny Lopez have each won three games, and
Breckin Silvain has a program-record seven saves.
Bethany Lutheran finished first in the UMAC with a 14-4 conference record and holds an overall record of 28-6. The Vikings went 2-1 to close the regular season against Northwestern, winning 10-0 and 17-7 before falling 11-5. Ryan Kragh is in his 22nd season as head coach at BLC. Yunior Pena Torres and Jayden Knutson lead the team in batting average at .396 and .395, respectively. On the mound, Aidan Byrd has a 2.66 ERA with a 7-0 record.
