MORRIS, Minn. – Colin Kaurich has been named interim head coach of the University of Minnesota Morris women's soccer team following the announcement that Emma Morris is stepping away from the program.
 
Morris served as the Cougars' head coach for two seasons. During the 2025 season, she led the team to the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Semifinals for the first time in four seasons.
 
Kaurich served as the assistant coach for the women's soccer team for one season. During his tenure, he worked as the team's goalkeeper coach while also assisting Morris with all aspects of the program. Kaurich helped lead the Cougars to their first postseason appearance since 2021 and played a key role in recruiting for the 2026 season.
 
"I am extremely excited to lead the University of Minnesota Morris Women's Soccer team," said Kaurich. "The future of this program is bright, and I am looking forward to guiding its continued growth and success."
 
A nationwide search for the permanent head coach will begin following the conclusion of the 2026 season. The search for a new assistant coach will begin immediately.
