MORRIS, Minn. - The University of Minnesota Morris Athletic Department is excited to announce the hiring of Riley Hayes as the new assistant women's soccer coach.
 
Prior to coming to Minnesota Morris, Hayes spent time coaching at the high school level for Legends High School in Parker, Colo.
 
"I am very excited to welcome Riley to Cougar Athletics as our new assistant women's soccer coach," said Athletic Director Matt Johnson. "Riley brings a powerful blend of Division III student‑athlete experience, thoughtful leadership, and a commitment to holistic player development. Her background as a student-athlete combined with her graduate training in sport leadership and management will strengthen our program on and off the field. Riley's passion for mentoring young women and building meaningful relationships makes her an outstanding addition to the Cougar soccer family."  
 
Hayes was a collegiate athlete at Keystone College. During her time with KC she started all 60 games she played as a defender. In her first year with the Giants she scored in the final game of the season.
 
"I am thrilled to be getting the opportunity to enter collegiate coaching," said Hayes. "College athletics was the greatest time of my life and getting this opportunity seems surreal. I'm excited to be a part of the culture, and to watch student-athletes grow and develop together as a program leading to a successful season.
