MORRIS, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Morris women's soccer team starts the 2026 campaign with three games in the first week.
 
The Cougars kick off the season on Tuesday at Concordia College at 2:30 p.m. UMN Morris continues its road trip at Hamline University on Friday at 5 p.m. and wraps up the week with a home opener on Sunday against Buena Vista University at 1 p.m.

The Cougars made their first playoff appearance in five seasons last year. Minnesota Morris went 4-6-2 in conference play. UMM returns four UMAC All-Conference Honorable Mention athletes: CJ Frear-Boerner, Brianna Ganske, Caitlin Lau, and Talalupe Levale. In her first year with the Cougars, Ganske led the team in points with 11, recording five goals and one assist. In goal, Frear-Boerner made 121 saves and had a .672 save percentage. In the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference Preseason Coaches Poll, the Cougars were selected fourth. Colin Kaurich was named interim head coach before the season.
 
Concordia College is coming off a 0-12-5 season in 2025. Jared Rice enters his first season as the head coach of the Cobbers. CC returns three of its four goal scorers from last season in Emma Sheflo, Kara Ellis, and Kate Corradi. Julia Roark also returns to the team after starting 16 games last season. Last year, the Cougars and Cobbers battled to a 0-0 draw, with Frear-Boerner making 11 saves.
 
Last season, Hamline went 3-9-7 overall. Head coach Michael Prunty is in his fifth season with the Pipers. Addyson Barrett led the team in points in 2025 with 12, recording five goals and two assists. Maddox Fergus started 13 games for HU and finished with a .825 save percentage.
 
Buena Vista went 4-12-2 last season. Mauricio Lozada is in his fourth season as the head coach of the Beavers. Megan Rowedder is the lone returning goal scorer from 2025. Maia Jaroch started 18 games for BVU in net and finished the season with 164 saves. Last year, the Cougars topped Buena Vista 2-1. Ganske netted both goals for UMM in the victory.
