MORRIS, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Morris women's soccer team starts Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) play on Wednesday at Bethany Lutheran College with a 4:30 p.m. kickoff. Then, on Saturday, the Cougars play their final nonconference game against the University of Wisconsin-Stout at home at 2 p.m.

Last week, the Cougars had two games against tough Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) opponents in Hamline University and the College of St. Benedict. Recording shots in the games were Rylie Lovec, Talalupe Levale, Abigail Oxborough, and Malia Totoris. All three UMN Morris goalkeepers made an appearance last week: CJ Frear-Boerner, Mackenzie Dolata, and Abby Stewart.
 
Early in the season, Lovec leads the team in points with two from a goal, while Brianna Ganske follows with one point from an assist. Lovec and Ashlynn Pollreisz have recorded the most shots on the team. Frear-Boerner paces the team in saves with 13, with Dolata and Stewart following with 11 and 10, respectively.
 
Bethany Lutheran has played one game so far this season, falling to Hamline, 4-0. Head coach Morgan Philliber is in her first season with the Vikings. Payton Anderson has recorded the only shots for BLC so far this season. Arayah Baker made six saves in the opening contest.
 
UW-Stout enters with a 2-2-1 record. In its last game, the Blue Devils were defeated 3-1 by the University of Northwestern. Marcos Rodriguez is in his second season as the head coach of the Blue Devils. Kayla White is the team's leading scorer with three goals. Bella Mickey, Tia Rubow, and Tessa Pagel all have two goals on the season. Kristen Silenzi has started all five games in goal and has made 14 saves.
