MORRIS, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Morris football team has its second home game of the season as it hosts Buena Vista University on Saturday at 12 p.m.

The Cougars have started the season 0-2. Last week, Minnesota Morris traveled to Mayville State University. UMM trailed 16-13 at halftime, but the Comets pulled away in the second half. Defensively,
Dylan Young recorded two forced fumbles. On the opening drive, Young forced and recovered a fumble to set UMM up in MSU territory.
Bryson Drake had two passing touchdowns at Mayville State. Drake found
Jacob Wilmes for the opening score of the game. In the second half, Drake connected with
Trent Roden for a seven-yard touchdown.

Drake leads the offense with 314 passing yards and five touchdown passes.
Manny Guy has tallied a team-high 78 receiving yards with a pair of touchdowns.
Dylan Shafer follows with 72 receiving yards. Also catching touchdown passes are Wilmes and Roden.
Tyler Monson and
Sean-Keley Chinanga lead the team in the ground game.

Earlier this season,
Arian Saenz was named Upper Midwest Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week. In the season opener, he tallied 13 tackles and an interception against Concordia Chicago. Saenz leads the team with 27 tackles, while
Derrick Dohmen follows with 18. UMM has created four takeaways, including three fumbles and one interception.

Buena Vista enters the week with a 1-1 record. The Beavers won their most recent contest, 26-14, at Lawrence University. Head Coach Austin Dickinson is in his fourth season leading the program. Brett Garcia is the starting quarterback with 418 passing yards and a touchdown pass. Johnny Messerly leads the team with 153 receiving yards and a touchdown. Defensively, Quincy Donalde paces the team with 12 tackles and has the team's lone sack.
