MORRIS, Minn. – Damaris Fields of the University of Minnesota Morris football team has been named to the D3football.com Team of the Week for Week 3 of the 2026 season, as announced Monday, Sept. 22.
 
Fields becomes the fifth Cougar all-time to earn the weekly honor. Prior to Fields, Chayce Meyer and Gregory Ohman earned the honor during the 2025 season. Fields is the first special teams player from Minnesota Morris to receive the award.
 
Fields played a pivotal role in the Cougars' first win of the season against Buena Vista University. With two minutes remaining in the first half, BVU lined up at the UMM six-yard line for a field goal attempt to tie the game heading into halftime. Fields blocked the kick to keep Minnesota Morris in front.
 
In the final seconds of the game, the Beavers lined up for a game-winning field goal attempt. Just like the previous attempt, the Sioux Falls, S.D., native blocked the kick to seal the 30-28 win for the Cougars.
 
The football team has a bye week coming up and will return to action on Oct. 3 against Crown College for Homecoming at 6 p.m.
