MORRIS, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Morris women's soccer team continues Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) play with a pair of games. The Cougars start the week at the University of Northwestern on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m., followed by a home game against North Central University on Saturday at 12 p.m.

Last week, Minnesota Morris played Martin Luther College and the University of Wisconsin-Superior. The Cougars battled throughout the week but could not come away with a point. Ashlynn Pollreisz led the team in shots with five, including four on target. CJ Frear-Boerner finished the week with 20 saves.
Tessa Humphreys, Malia Totoris, and Rylie Lovec have all found the back of the net this season. Brianna Ganske and Pollreisz have each earned a point on the year by assisting on a goal. Pollreisz leads the team in shots with 14, including eight on target. Frear-Boerner has made five starts in goal and recorded 35 saves. Mackenzie Dolata has one start and three appearances, totaling 20 saves.
Northwestern is second in the UMAC with a conference record of 2-0-1 and is 4-1-2 overall. Last week, the Eagles drew UW-Superior 1-1 before defeating Martin Luther 6-0. Head Coach Danny Brandt is in his second season with UNW. Marie Kendall leads the team in scoring with five goals on the season. Naomi Meehan and Ada Meehan follow with four goals each. In net, Sam Hansen has started all seven games, making 23 saves.
North Central started the season with a win but has dropped its following five games, leading to a 1-5 overall record and a 0-3 mark in the UMAC. Last week, the Rams played one game, falling 7-0 to Bethany Lutheran College. Keith Bleyer is in his first season coaching the women's team. Victoria de Abreu paces the team with five goals on the season, all coming in the opening game. Olivia Johnlouis has started five games in goal, making 35 saves.
