ST. PAUL, Minn. – Sella Fleming of the University of Minnesota Morris volleyball team and Kaden Burshiem of the Minnesota Morris men's golf team were named Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Athletes of the Week for the period of Sept. 21–27, as announced Tuesday, Sept. 29.
 
Fleming continues to impress on the court with her fourth straight UMAC Setter of the Week honor. Across five matches, the first-year student-athlete totaled 164 assists, averaging 9.1 per set. Fleming's best match of the week came against No. 25 St. Olaf College, where she tallied 41 assists, then followed it up with a 40-assist match against Nebraska Wesleyan University. She also added 38 digs, 14 kills, nine blocks, and a service ace.
 
Burshiem became the first Cougar men's golfer to earn UMAC Athlete of the Week honors since the 2022 season. The Flandreau, S.D., native won his first collegiate golf event on Friday at the Cougar Invite after carding a 67 (-3), finishing five strokes ahead of second place. Burshiem also shot a 77 (+5) at the Polar Invite earlier in the week to tie for fourth.
 
The volleyball team hosts North Central University on Friday at 7 p.m. for Homecoming.
 
The golf team will compete in a two-day meet at the Sword and Shield Invite, starting on Oct. 2 at 10 a.m.
