MORRIS, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Morris men's soccer team will play a road game and a home game this week. The Cougars start the week at Mount Marty University on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m., then host the University of Wisconsin-River Falls on Saturday at 2 p.m.

The Cougars started the 2026 season 1-1. To kick off the year, Minnesota Morris defeated Concordia College (Minn.) 1-0. Jake Anargyros scored the game-winning goal in the 20th minute. In his first collegiate start, Dutch Bullock earned the win and the shutout while making seven saves. This was Minnesota Morris' first win against a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference team since the 2019 season. In the following game, the Cougars fell to St. John's University.
 
Anargyros is the team's leading point scorer with two points on his game-winning goal against Concordia. Luis Mendez earned his first collegiate point with an assist on the goal. Evan Karki and Justin Page lead the team in shots. In goal, Bullock has made 14 saves. Zander Kuhfeld made his Cougar debut against St. John's and made four saves.
 
Mount Marty has started the season 1-2. The Lancers won their first game 5-1 against Bethany Lutheran College but dropped their following games 5-3 and 3-0 to York University and South Dakota School of Mines, respectively. Sheldon Spelman is in his second season as the head coach of the Lancers. Findlay Green leads the team with six points on three goals, while James Starkey follows with four points on one goal and two assists. Esteban Gomez has started all three games in goal and has made 14 saves. This is the first meeting between the teams.
 
UW-River Falls started 1-0-1 after the first week of the season. The Falcons tied their opening game 2-2 against Edgewood College before defeating North Central University 6-0. Head coach Evan Sassano is in his third season with the program. Sorel Richardson and Carter Eklund lead the team with two goals each, while Ben Harris also has four points on one goal and one assist. Greyson Skiek is the starting goalkeeper and has made nine saves. This is the first meeting between the teams.
