Spent the past three years coaching at the high school level. Served as the defensive coordinator for Rosholt High School and the Tri-State Tigers in 2014. Tri-State ended the regular season at 6-2, which was the best record in the program’s history, and the defense set team records in takeaways (27), sacks (24), and scoring differential (+194). He produced 6 All-Conference players and 2 All-State selections, including an All-State defensive end.
Previously Elliott spent two seasons at Tiospa Zina Tribal School, where he was the head coach during his second year, oversaw the team’s transition from a 9-man to an 11-man football program, and broke their 47-game losing streak in their first game of the season. Tiospa Zina experienced its best season in nearly a decade, and the program gained so much interest that the Wambdi had their largest roster in team history. Additionally, he raised funds to renovate their work out equipment and was given the newly created title of strength coach to officially be in charge of the weight room.
His coaching career began in 2009 at the University of Minnesota Morris, where he was a student coach at the linebacker position. The Cougar defense led the UMAC in total defense that season, and had 5 All-Conference performers. As a player at UMM, Elliott was a four year starter and three year All-Conference linebacker from 2005-08. Member of 2006 UMAC Championship team and captain during his senior year.
Graduated in 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts in physics. Working on his Master of Science in Physics at Minnesota Duluth.
