Micah Johnson enters his second year as the offensive coordinator for the Minnesota Morris football program in 2019.
Prior to joining the Cougars, Johnson spent the 2017 season as the wide receivers coach and video coordinator at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio.
In 2017, Case Western Reserve University advanced to the second round of the NCAA Division III playoffs before losing to eventual national champion, Mount Union.
Prior to Case Western Reserve, Johnson served as head coach of Joy Christian High School in Glendale, Ariz. where he won two state championships during his tenure from 2014-16. He started his collegiate coaching career at Grinnell College where he was the passing game coordinator and also coached the quarterbacks, wide receivers, and tight ends from 2010-13. He helped guide the offense to top 10 national rankings in three seasons and two wide receivers went on to play in the National Football League (NFL).
Johnson was an all-conference wide receiver at South Dakota State University (2004-06) where Hoffmann was on the Jackrabbits staff as a graduate assistant. He went on to play in the NFL for three seasons with the Atlanta Falcons, Cincinnati Bengals, and San Francisco 49ers. He also played a season for the British Columbia Lions of the Canadian Football League.
