Ali Kuusisto

    Assistant Volleyball Coach
Ali Kuusisto begins her first season as assistant volleyball coach of the University of Minnesota, Morris volleyball program in 2017.
 
Kuusisto played for NJCAA Division I, nationally ranked, Kaskaskia College in southern Illinois as a right side hitter and outstanding blocker. In 2011, she was elected to her first Academic All-American Team. Injuries put an end to her collegiate career and she turned her focus to coaching.
 
Prior to UMM, Kuusisto came to Morris from Greenville High School where she served as the first assistant volleyball and track and field coach for two seasons. She assisted the volleyball team to a regional title and a state playoff appearance and had one thrower place fourth in the state competition.
 
Kuusisto's career also includes stints with Greenville University where she was a thrower on the track and field team. She was a two-time NCCAA national qualifier in the javelin and hammer and also earned several Academic All-American awards.
 
Kuusisto holds a BS in Psychology and a minor in Art. She is in the process of pursuing her Master's and seeks to become a licensed marriage and family therapist.
 
She currently resides in the Morris area with her husband, Josh, and dog, Koda.
