Mike Bryant begins his first season as Minnesota Morris assistant volleyball coach in 2017.

Bryant is an assistant professor and coordinator for the sport management program at UMM. He obtained his B.A. in Sociology from the University of Washington (1996). He later achieved his Master's in Exercise and Sport Leadership from Seattle Pacific University (2001) and earned his Ph.D. in Education Leadership and Policy from the University of Washington (2015).

Bryant brings plenty of volleyball coaching experience to the Cougar program. He was the head coach at The Evergreen State College (2010) and served as assistant coach at Seattle University (2004-05, 2012-13), the University of Pittsburgh (2008-09) and the University of Idaho (2006-08). He was the operations coordinator for the NCAA Division I national champion, University of Washington program in 2005-06.

Outside of collegiate volleyball, Bryant coached in the high school ranks at Holy Names Academic where they were the Metro League champions (1997) and at Eastside Catholic where they were runner-ups in the Washington AAA State Championships. He has coached several teams to the USA Volleyball Girls' Junior National Championships which included a silver medal in the U16 open division in 2009.
