The Cougar women welcome Northland and St. Scholastica to Jim Gremmels Court this weekend respectively, kicking things off with the LumberJills on Jan. 28 at 5:30 p.m. Then a day later they host the Saints in an afternoon tilt at 3:00 p.m. on Jan. 29.

As always, each game can be seen live on Cougars Sports Network.

After their 91-48 win over Trinity Bible their last time out, the Cougars can currently boast a season-long six-game winning streak while sitting at 5-0 in conference action.

Despite trailing first place UMM by two games in the standings, Northland can move a game closer with a win this weekend. Matching-up and a strong start will be key to a win on Friday night.

“We'll have to play their personnel,” senior guard Tara Thielke (Hancock, Minn.) said. “And we'll have to come out strong in our game, and play our A game to beat them.”

As for the weekend as a whole, fellow senior Brandi Cresap (Perham, Minn.) echoed Thielke's comments, stating that they need to be ready from the start to have success.

“We just have to come out ready and intense and give it everything we've got,” Cresap said.

Students, also be sure to make it up to the concession stand to sign up for your chance at “The Best Seats In the House”!!  The winner receives a pizza, and can select two friends to watch the games on a courtside couch. Get there early to sign up!
