New Ulm, Minn. – The Minnesota Morris men's soccer team ran their winning streak to a season high three games today (Oct. 1), going to overtime to top Martin Luther 2-1 in Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) action.

Toby Glaser scored his second goal of the game with under four minutes left in the first overtime, scoring on a crossing pass from Michael Ward to give the Cougars the win.

The goal capped a late comeback for Morris (6-3-2, 5-1-0 UMAC), as Glaser first scored in the 82 minute to put the Cougars on the board and even the match.

Looking for just their second conference win, Martin Luther (2-7-0, 1-4-0 UMAC) went up 1-0 on a Ryan Lemke goal at the 36:13 mark, taking advantage of one of their four corner kicks in the match.

The Cougars took an amazing 40 shots in the match, the best mark in the UMAC this season. They had 18 in the first half despite trialing at the break, and outshot the Knights 19-to-3 in the second half, putting the pressure on as they worked to tie the match.

On the defensive end, Morris held Martin Luther to 13 shots, while putting up nine corner kicks as they controlled the match.

Glaser notches his first since Sept. 16, as the Cougars win their first overtime game of the season. He took seven shots in the match and led the team with four shots on goal.

Ebrima Badgie led the Cougars with a season high 10 shots in the match, with five players taking four or more.

The win is also the first of the comeback variety on the season for the Cougars, and their first in the extra sesson not to end in a tie.

Just their second multiple goal game of the season, the Cougars will next take on the opponent from their biggest win of the year. Off for nearly two weeks, the Cougars return to action on Oct. 15 at Northland, and at St. Scholastica on Oct. 16. In their first meeting this season the Cougar beat the LumberJacks 7-0, while the Saints gave the Cougars their only conference loss.
