October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the Minnesota Morris volleyball team is once again teaming up with the Side-Out Foundation to "Dig Pink," this Saturday, Oct. 8.

The Side-Out Foundation, uses resources to help conduct research, educate and promote awareness for breast cancer throughout the community. Each year, Side-Out organizes a Dig Pink event, where they ask volleyball programs to designate a match in October as the "Dig Pink" match. The main goal of the event is to promote breast cancer education and awareness in the community.

This year, Cougar Volleyball will host their "Dig Pink" match at home against Martin Luther on Oct. 8 at 1:00 p.m.

If you would like to support the event, UMM will be selling t-shirts for $10.00, pink wristbands for $2.00, and pink ribbons for $2.00. Checks can be made out to the Side-Out Foundation and all proceeds will go to the Side-Out Foundation.

The Cougars will also have a silent auction with a dig pink blanket, a pink Minnesota Wild jersey autographed by Wild players, autographed and framed UMM Volleyball photos, and autographed pink volleyballs.

Also if fans would like donate directly to the Side-Out foundation, or would just like more information, check out the Side-Out Foundation website at: http://side-out.org/news-events/our-events/dig-pink/

One out of every eight women in the United States has a chance of developing breast cancer in her lifetime. Come join the Cougars on Oct. 8, as they join with the Side-Out Foundation for Dig Pink, to help find a cure.
