Last time out
Last weekend the Cougars split, falling
1-0 to St. Scholastica, but rebounding in a big way with a
7-0 win over Northland. Against the Saints, the Cougars held a 13-to-6 lead in shots, but it was the Saints scoring at 60:49 for the win, their only shot on goal in the match. Against the LumberJacks, the Cougars fired off 27 shots in their best offensive day of the season.
Ebrima Badgie scored the game's first three goals en route to the Cougars' 4-0 halftime lead. Four different players scored for the Cougars, while the defense pitched its fifth shutout of the season.
Bethany Lutheran was swept last weekend, falling
2-1 to Northwestern and
3-1 to Crown. The Vikings put up 15 shots against the Eagles, but were outmatched, giving up 24. The game went to halftime tied 1-1, but just five minutes into the second half, Northwestern scored the game-winner. Against Crown, the Vikings were again outshot, this time by a 26-to-11 margin. The Storm quickly went up 1-0, but the Vikings answered 10 minutes later. Crown scored just before the half to regain the lead, before adding an insurance goal in the second.
Martin Luther was swept last weekend, falling
6-3 to Crown and
2-1 to Northwestern. Despite being outshot 37-to-11 in the game, the Knights took a 3-0 lead into halftime. Twenty minutes into the second half, though, the lead was gone. The Storm then scored the go-ahead goal in the 74th minute, and added two more in the final 10 minutes. The Knights woes on the shot chart continued against the Eagles, as NWC led a 38-to-7 advantage at game's end. Still though, the Knights went into the break tied 1-1, pulling even with just two minutes left in the half. Northwestern then used 21 second half shots to get the game winner.
