Badgie Does it Again in Win

Box Score NEW ULM, Minn. – The Cougars (9-5-1, 8-1 UMAC) won their eighth straight match on Thursday thanks to a pair of second goals giving UMM the 3-1 win over Martin Luther (2-10, 1-7 UMAC). Three different scorers were responsible for the Cougars goals as five different UMM players were on the scorecard.
 
Matt Vik gave the Cougars the lead in the 18th minute as Dylan Urban got the ball to him in a spot where he could score. Kaleb Buch tied it less than six minutes later scoring an unassisted goal for the Knights.
 
In the second half it was Ebrima Badgie who gave Morris the lead at 2-1 as Matthew Bennis picked up the assists. It was the 13 goal of the year for Badgie and it would prove to be the match winner. Bennis scored an insurance goal in the 74th minute to give UMM the 3-1 win. Vik and John Hastings got the assists on Bennis' goal.
 
Minnesota Morris will be at home Saturday at 12:00 hosting the Bethany Lutheran Vikings.
