Box Score MORRIS, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Morris Cougars (9-6-1, 8-2 UMAC) had their winning streak snapped on Saturday afternoon as the Bethany Lutheran Vikings (6-8-1, 5-3-1 UMAC) picked up the 1-0 win. Morris out shot BLC 22-7 but were unable to beat keeper Noah Heidorn who had eight saves.
Badgie had great look on goal in the sixth minute hitting a shot from about 23 yards out but the keeper leaped up and touched it over the crossbar.
Bethany Lutheran got on the board in the 29
th minute when a loose ball bounced in favor of Ryan Behmer and he beat
Jacob Borash to his right. Despite out shooting the Vikings 10-4 in the first half BLC took the 1-0 lead into half time.
Scott DeVries hit a shot from 28 yards out but again the Vikings keeper came up big once again with the save. The Cougars had much of the possession in the second half but BLC kept UMM at bay.
Minnesota Morris will be back at home next weekend to take on St. Scholastica and Northland in key UMAC contests.
