Cougars Claim Seventh Straight Win

Box Score ABEERDEN, S. D. - Thanks to 15 kills from Abby Tietz and 13 kills from Jennifer Schmidt the Cougars (16-6, 5-2 UMAC) won their seventh straight match on Tuesday night sweeping Presentation for the second time in a week. The Cougars hit .331 as a team in the 25-22, 25-19, 25-18 sweep.

Hannah Knot had nine kills without a single error 20 attacks against the Saints. Kaylie Clark and Emily Auch had 16 digs each to lead the defense. Mandy Allman had 27 assists and Brook Decker had 22 setting up the offense. 

Presentation hit .312 in the first set, out hitting UMM but .008 points but it was the Cougars who took the set 25-22 thanks to six kills apiece from Tietz and Schmidt. Auch had seven digs in the first set alone. 

It was all Morris in the second set as they hit .372 and held the Saints to .125 hitting. The Cougars had just two attack errors in set two. 

Minnesota Morris never trailed in the third set out hitting Presentation .312 to .100. Four blocks and four more unforced errors by the Saints attack were too much for them to overcome. 

The Cougars will be back in action this weekend as they travel to take on St. Scholastica on Friday and Northland on Saturday.
