Box Score MORRIS, Minn. - The Cougars (2-5-1, 2-1 UMAC) took the field against Martin Luther (1-6, 0-3 UMAC) and were looking to bounce back after a tough loss on the road versus St. Scholastica. Minnesota Morris used two first half goals to pick up the 2-0 win over MLC.
Getting the Cougars started on the right track was
Ebrima Badgie, who scored the first goal of the game in the 27
th minute of the first half. Badgie received the ball from
John Hastings just inside the 18 yard box and pull the ball in the back of the net.
The Cougars controlled the ball well after the goal and were able to put the ball in the net again, this time right before half.
Christian Waage picked up his first goal in a Cougars kit finishing on a cross from
Michael Ward in the 43
rd minute.
Jacob Borash picked up the clean sheet in the victory.
UMM cruised through the second half scoreless but thanks to a strong defensive effort held Martin Luther scoreless and won the match 2-0.
Minnesota Morris will take on Bethany Lutheran on the road Saturday afternoon following the women's match.
