Cougars Rebound, Sweep Vikings

Box Score MANKATO, Minn. - Abby Tietz tied a career high with 14 kills as Minnesota Morris swept the Bethany Lutheran Vikings 25-15, 25-18, 25-11 on Saturday afternoon. Teitz hit .480 on the afternoon adding four digs and two block assists.

The Cougars hit .326 in the match, fourth highest on the year, just a day after hitting a season low 0.010. In addition UMM held BLC to .020 thanks to 49 digs by the Cougars, 20 by Kaylie Clark.

Minnesota Morris had a 10-4 lead to start the first set and never really looked back taking the set  25-15.

The second set started a lot like the first taking a 12-5 lead early. The Vikings closed to with three at 20-17 but the Cougars clawed in and took the set 25-18.

UMM scored the first seven point of the third set and that would pretty much seal the deal as they would go on to take the third set 25-11, never allowing the Vikings to get within five points.
