Box Score MORRIS, Minn. - The University of Minnesota Morris (4-5-1, 4-1 UMAC) scored a 3-0 win over the Northwestern Eagles (5-4, 3-2 UMAC) on Friday to move into second place in the UMAC.
Devin Chuba almost got the scoring started in the fourth minute as his shot hit the post and went just wide of the net. Twenty minutes later it was
Matthew Bennis who put UMM on top. Bennis got the ball back from
Matt Vik just inside the box turned and fired a shot off the crossbar and in.
The match went into half with the Cougars holding the 1-0 lead and looking at three points in the table.
Minnesota Morris put the match away with two second half goals. First in the 71st minute it was
Ravi Butler picking up his first goal as a Cougar fighting for the ball in the box after getting a pass from Vik and putting it past the keeper.
Devin Chuba scored his first goal of the year in the 88th minute to put UMM up 3-0. Chuba headed a driving cross from Vik to give the Cougars the victory.
Morris will back in action tomorrow as they take on North Central at 2:30 p.m.
