School Records Fall at Cobber Open

MOORHEAD, Minn. – The Minnesota Morris Cougars opened their season in style as they had an individual champion and broke school records on Saturday. Ken Broden won the 800m in a time of 1:58.87 and the 4x200m relay team of Zeke Miller, Terrance Chastan-Davis, Nathan Harder and Bailey Denzer tied for first finishing in a time of 1:37.93. Kat Nelson set the school record in the shot and weight on Saturday. She bested teammate Katia Vantries in the weight throw on her last throw after Vantries had set the school record moments before.  Nelson finished fourth in the shot put and sixth in the weight throw.
 
The women had six top five finishes as did the men. Jennifer LaRoque was the top finisher for the women, taking second place in the high jump with a height of 1.58m.
